Liam whistled softly as he strolled through the office, a half-empty mug of coffee in his hand. He greeted each coworker with a cheerful "Morning!" his voice bright and unhurried. He was in no rush; the promotion interview was later, a mere formality in his mind.

He leaned against the water cooler, the cool metal a pleasant contrast to the warmth of his coffee cup. He chatted with Sarah from accounting, her complaints of a tough quarter bringing a smile to his face. There was a lightness to his step, a lack of concern that bordered on blissful ignorance.

He glanced at his watch, noticing he was running a few minutes late. He ambled toward the conference room, pausing briefly to straighten a painting on the wall. The door, when he entered, felt lighter than usual, the weight of the moment nonexistent.
